Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment's subsidiary, FireSky* is the new publisher behind SNAP games (social networks at play). FireSky is currently in production of its first game, Stargate Worlds, which is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) based on the popular science fiction television series, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis.
The Graphic UI/UX Designer for FireSky will be are a proactive, critical, creative thinker with high standards, unique ideas and a passion for game play and Internet applications and site design. You will be an integral player on the publishing web development team, which is tasked with extending new client-based and wed-based game brands into the web sphere through unique online experiences. You will be reporting to the Director of Web Development and will be rewarded for your energy, flexibility, enthusiasm, and drive while brainstorming and designing applications that change the way people interact with each other online.
This position will interact with and may occasionally be called upon (and are encouraged) to perform tasks cross-organizationally, providing services or expertise within other publishing departments or in game development studios.
Required Skills: * Experience with XHTML, CSS * 3+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer/Production Artist preferably in a web development studio * Experience with entertainment & media websites * Experience with branding and marketing * Experience designing UI elements for video games * Skilled in the use of Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Director * Deep understanding of the social networking space * Proficiency in Action Script 3 * Familiarity with animation software and motion graphics
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or MFA in Graphic Design, or successful completion of an equivalent art school program * A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design sensibility and transcends the design found on most corporate web sites * Fresh, innovative ideas, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills for motion * Well versed in contemporary trends in visual design * Intuitive understanding of user behavior on the web * Motivated, high energy and focused creativity * Able to self-manage tasks and time, strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills * Ability to work collaboratively within a team * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Sharp attention to detail and presentation * Ability to take critiques with positive attitude * Project follow-through from concept until completion * Ability to quickly grasp and utilize new technologies and pick up new programming languages with ease * Strong sense of ownership and responsibility * Thrive working in fast paced environment * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Exceptional organization and listening skills * Ability to identify and communicate best practices
